| Minutes from Viking Althing - Standing Stones: | The guild has been asked to supply recipes at this time to Mistress Katrei, who is in charge of the Calontir Estrella Hospitalty Party this year. If you have period finger food type recipes or recipes for sauces to go with things like meatballs, recipes for period meatballs? Please send them to me, and I will consolidate and send them on to Katrei. She is hoping to distribute the recipes at Kris Kinder to people to make. So, start digging. I would like to get them to her before Thanksgiving. If you are attending Kris Kinder, talk to Katrei about making one of the recipes for the party. You don’t have to be attending Estrella. You can make the recipe and then package it for someone else to take, either from your group, or arrange to transfer it to someone who is going at one of the many fine events in January or February before Estrella.. We will soon have our very own e-mail discussion list set up. I will send you details as soon as it is finalized and operational. The guild will not be holding a formal meeting at Kris Kinder in Forgotten Sea as that day is already loaded with many meetings. I will again set up somewhere with the Cook’s Guild banner showing – come by and talk. We are trying to arrange for a formal meeting at Twelfth Night in Lonely Tower. We are growing much faster than I anticpated – so I feel the time has come to start holding formal meetings as well as continuing with the informal meeting format. We have nearly 30 members on my notification list already. I had only anticipated having 40 by the end of my first year as guildhead (this coming Lilies). So, we’re way ahead of schedule – which is great!!! We are still investigating holding an IronChef type competition early in the Spring. Is your group holding an event? Do they have a place we could hold it? Are they interested in this becoming part of their event? Let me know. I’ve gotten some great ideas on the format from several of you, and I’m still looking for more. ----------------------------------------------- |
